On May 5th the National Women’s Health Network’s Executive Director Cindy Pearson accepted the Grassroots Activism Award from the National Breast Cancer Coalition for our success in reducing the incidence of breast cancer.  The award recognized how the activism of NWHN members and supporters -- challenging widespread use of hormone therapy -- changed the lives of 160,000 women who were not diagnosed with breast cancer over the last 10 years because they avoided unnecessary exposure to drugs that would have caused it.

This is why evidence based research is important!

Send an email asking your Members of Congress to continue their support by:
  • Increasing investment in research to develop safer alternatives to treat hot flashes;
  • Including more women in heart disease prevention research; and
  • Strengthening protections from misleading promotion of unproven and unsafe drugs, including better regulation of drug ads.
