Pediatricians ask lots of questions relevant to children’s health and well-being. Do you have a smoker in the house; is there a swimming pool; do you insist on the use of an infant/toddler car seat or a seat belt? Do you wear a seat belt? Does your child wear a bike helmet; brush his or her teeth; drink sugary beverages?
Like the old saying about the weather, everyone talks about nutrition but not much gets done about it. What we eat is tied so deeply to our cultures, our upbringing, our current lifestyles, and the political system we live under that changes seem daunting.
