Help Close the Gap in Montana

I’m so impressed by the wonderful women’s health supporters in Montana. Just yesterday, a strong coalition of women’s and consumer health activists persuaded the Montana legislature to consider a bill that would close the coverage gap. Rallying around the slogan “70,000 Can’t Wait”, these activists overcame efforts to kill the legislation in committee, and succeeded in bringing it to the floor today.

The Raising Women’s Voices (RWV) Regional Coordinator in Montana, Montana Women Vote, needs your help to support their fight to expand Medicaid – and today has huge potential. If you have been working diligently on this issue, we thank you.  If not, here is your chance. Please take a minute between now and 4 pm to call your legislator at (406) 444-4800 and urge them to support SB 405!

These legislators voted “yes” to blast SB 405 and deserve your thanks and support for the floor vote:

Rep. Berry
Rep. Clark
Rep. Cook
Rep. Custer
Rep. Fitzpatrick
Rep. Garner
Rep. Hollandsworth
Rep. Richmond
Rep. Salomon
Rep. Shaw
Rep. Welborn

These legislators did not vote “yes” on the procedural votes but still need to hear your support for SB 405:

Rep. McKamey
Rep. Meyers
Rep. Moore

If this bill passes, Montana would be able to close the coverage gap and expand Medicaid for more than 70,000 uninsured people – that’s huge! Please take a moment NOW to call in support of Medicaid expansion in Montana.
