Standing Up for Women Living with HIV in the U.S.

Today, in recognition of National Women & Girls HIV and AIDS Awareness Day, the Network is collaborating with Positive Women’s Network-USA and SisterLove, Inc. to release a policy brief that highlights the impact that our fragmented health care delivery system has had on women and girls living with HIV.

The policy brief explains how thousands of HIV positive women have fallen through the cracks and still lack sufficient health coverage to meet physical and mental health needs, including HIV-related healthcare and life-saving medications. While the ACA has made many strides in advancing access to healthcare for women and girls living with HIV, there is much more that we can do.

The Network, through our Raising Women’s Voices campaign, is working to expand access to comprehensive treatment, care, prevention and support services for people living with HIV by advocating for Medicaid expansion and the continuation of the Ryan White Program, which are essential for people living with HIV.

We invite you to read our new policy brief and get involved in the fight against HIV by sharing this resource with your friends and family. Help us make Women and Girl’s HIV Awareness Day a day for action. Download a copy of the policy brief TODAY!
