EACH Woman Act
Today, we are proud to be featured on the 100 Days of Coverage campaign.
Anniversaries are usually quite a happy occasion, often celebrated with parties or gift giving or gatherings with friends. However, the anniversary occurring today on September 30th is not one to be celebrated but, rather, an anniversary in which we are reminded that we still have a long way to go in the fight for reproductive justice.
In July, I joined more than 70 members of Congress and women’s health allies to celebrate the introduction of the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH) Woman Act. This visionary bill would repeal the Hyde Amendment and restore insurance coverage for abortion for all women.
Despite abortion being recognized worldwide as an essential part of reproductive health care, insurance coverage for abortion care in the United States varies based on a woman’s income, where she lives, and her health insurance.
