NWHN CORE ISSUE AREAS
We will prioritize featuring stories, information, and guests that speak to the following issue areas:
- medication abortion/self-managed abortion access
- bone health, menopause, and other health issues relevant to aging women
- breast health (stories, insights, new research)
- diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions
- contraception (safety, access, and affordability)
- FDA Advocacy regarding diversity in clinical trials and sex drugs for women
- fibroids, cervical cancer, sexual well-being, and other sexual & reproductive health issues
- LGBTQIA+ and gender affirming health care
- maternal health issues (for example, the post-partum experience, the importance of paid family leave)
- depression, anxiety, burnout, and other mental health issues
- social determinants of health (for example, racism, poverty, implicit bias)
PODCAST SEGMENTS
Your Health Unlocked (YHU) episodes span the following categories, so we are always looking for content that fits them:
- Ask the Expert - Are you a health care professional with women's health expertise? If so, introduce yourself in the story summary and briefly list the specialties you could speak to on an Ask the Expert segment.
- I Lived It - Will your health care story help others in some way? Are there things you wish you could go back and tell yourself before that story began for you? Let us help you amplify your voice in an I Lived It segment.
- Deep Dive - Maybe you just wrote a book on a health related topic. Or maybe you just need the world to know about a little-known sector of health research that's going to blow up soon, or about a serious gap in health care services that is harming millions. This is likely the segment for you.
- Partner Spotlight - Does the work you're doing align with the National Women's Health Network's vision, mission, and values? If so, pitch it below, and we'll consider amplifying it on the podcast.
- Activist Central - Are you a health and/or social justice activist with some wisdom to share? We'd love to feature you so that young people looking to make a real difference have the tools, tips, and training they need right at their fingertips!
