Abortion Coverage
On Thursday, November 30th, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals issued a decision on the Ohio v. Becera case that affirms the ability of Title X providers to make abortion referrals. Although the Network is pleased by the appeals court’s decision, we recognize that this case is one of many attempts by anti-abortion advocates to disrupt abortion access.
The NWHN applauds President Biden for excluding the Hyde Amendment from his budget proposal. But we must stay vigilant. The Weldon Amendment and the Helms Amendment pose similar dangers to abortion access.

In July, I joined more than 70 members of Congress and women’s health allies to celebrate the introduction of the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH) Woman Act. This visionary bill would repeal the Hyde Amendment and restore insurance coverage for abortion for all women.
