Nutrition can often seem like an impossible puzzle. The truth is, nutrition is a lot more complicated than we were taught in health class. Vanessa Rissetto, a Registered Dietician (RD), never paid attention to what she ate growing up. After moving to college and gaining 50lbs, then losing it when she moved back home, Vanessa had questions. Now she wants to share what she’s learned through her experience as an RD to help other people take an active role in their health journey and build a better relationship with food. Her approach is pragmatic, non-judgmental, and most importantly, realistic. Don’t like kale? That’s fine, hide it in a smoothie, or eat something else that’s green!
Vanessa Rissetto has always approached nutrition from an outsider’s perspective because, in many ways, she is one. As CEO and Co-Founder of Culina Health, Vanessa’s priority is making clinical nutrition care inclusive and accessible.
Vanessa received a Master’s in Science in Marketing from New York University and later returned to NYU to complete her 1200 hour Dietetic Internship through their Nutrition and Food Studies Program at Mount Sinai Hospital. She went on to serve as Senior Dietitian and Director of Dietetic Internships at NYU. Vanessa is certified in Adult Weight Management (Levels I & II) by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
